So, it’s been a few days since Erik and I really wrote a blog on here. Sometimes life and just being tired gets in the way. I have come to the realization that if I don’t write the day it happens i forget, so here I am.

Erik and I had our first baby shower today. It was very nice and we are already getting the necessities which is wonderful. Erik’s mom has some really great friends who love Erik and so they love me because I am part of the package. That was a nice start to our day, even though the shower wasn’t till 2.

Today we got to share Brady with my best friend from high school and his wife. It was nice b/c I haven’t seen them in about 6 months and I LOVE showing off Brady. Both of them were amazed at how small she is. I was chatting with Amanda last night, and pretty much told her she couldn’t imagine how small she is. Every time someone who hasn’t seen her goes to the NICU, “she’s so much smaller than I imagined, or something along lines is the first thing they say. It’s still unbelievable to me how small she is and I see her everyday.

I am really excited that the doctors are increasing her food. I went up there 2 or 3 days ago and they had increased her to 5 cc’s and tonight I was told that she was up to 7 cc’s. I am so excited b/c that means she can grow and grow and come home to Erik and I. I see each day as a day closer and I am so thankful.

Another thing I am thankful for are her smiles. She has been smiling in her sleep for about a week, but apparently she has started smiling at people. I haven’t really seen it yet. I might have got a half smile out of her tonight, but I am not positive. My mom and dad went up there last night and she was smiling up a storm. I’m jealous. Ok, not really, but I can’t wait till I see that pretty smile I know she has. Erik got one smile out of her tonight, but I was chatting with my friends out in the waiting area. We also think she has dimples. When she was smiling in her sleep yesterday Erik and I noticed them, and the first thing my mom said last night when she called was, ” SHE HAS DIMPLES!”. Apparently she was excited, which is understandable b/c they are cute. Now, I’m not sure where she got the dimples from, but I think it may be from my side b/c I have 2 cousins with them. Who cares where they came from, she is going to be the cutest kid on the planet!

So anyway, not much has changed. The doctor’s keep telling us she is doing well and that she is probably the most stable baby in her area. Erik and I couldn’t be more thankful for the progress she is making. Before we know it we’ll be bringing her home. I can’t wait!
