A Gift from God
Right now I am sitting in a hospital room very close to a nursery where Brady was for about a month. Instead of being in the the NICN or ISN we are now in the PSU because Brady had to have hernia’s repaired.
We are sorry we haven’t been able to update or add pictures, but like Erik said in a previous post we are internetless. We are also cableless but that doesn’t affect the blog, just my sanity at home
Hopefully we’ll be up an running soon so we can update everyone on the wonderful and funny things we experience with Brady.
Brady had hernia repair surgery bright and early at 7:00 AM this morning. She did well and is now just fussy and hungry considering she hasn’t had anything other than pedialyte since 10:30 last night. Every time we get her to calm down something happens where she gets woken up and starts fussing again.
Erik and I are still excited about having Brady at home. The Lord continues to bless us in so many ways through her presence.
Her pediatrician told me yesterday that we are doing a great job. This makes me smile. She is now between 6 pounds 10 ounces and 6 pounds 14 ounces. The doctors office says one and the hospital says the other. She looks almost 7 pounds. She has changed a bit in the 2 1/2 weeks she has been home. I can see her growing. She is also doing wonderful with feeding. She is a little pig. She is only supposed to eat 2 ounces every 4 hours but will get hungry every 2 and a half hours. That can make for a stressful afternoon because she will scream until she is fed. Thankfully she rarely does this at night and now that she is getting fed every 4 hours it is easier to sleep.
We are both exhausted but wouldn’t change it for the world.
Please continue to pray for our family. We should be out of the hospital tomorrow morning. Hopefully she will have a good night although her monitors don’t seem to be working well, but we are used to that
Brady Faith was brought into this world 12 weeks premature. This was a result of mommy having pre-eclampsia and there being a reverse blood flow to/from the placenta. Brady wasn't growing like she should and it would have just gotten worse. She weighed 1lb 7oz and was 11 3/4in long. To learn more about Brady and her family click here.
