I promised to write a blog today on Brady’s condition so here I am. Brady is doing better. They continue to wean her off of the vapotherm so hopefully she will be off of it soon, although she did have one episode tonight of low oxygen. So back to Brady’s issue.

Brady developed a skin infection called cellulitis. They have no clue how she got it because they couldn’t find an open wound on her, but she’s so small the tiniest of abrasion could cause something catastrophic. In her case it caused all kinds of problems, one of them being apnea. She was having a lot of trouble breathing and oxygen alone wasn’t enough so they put her on vapotherm which from my understand helps open up the airways. Because they had to do this Brady was put back into Pooh’s corner where she was for almost a whole month after she was born. Once there she started doing better and has continued to do better. The infection has caused a rash on her back which is tender to the touch and at times you can tell it makes her uncomfortable, but they are giving her tylenol to help with that. The rash is actually almost gone. The nurse this morning actually had to ask where to put the medicine because she could no longer see it.

I have to say Friday through Sunday were the worst days of our lives. I think I ran out of tears to cry. It was so hard to see her like she was, and she looked bad. Thankfully we got to speak to the doctors yesterday and that was a relief because they explained to us what it was and told us she was going to get better and that she seemed to be responding.

I want to thank you for all the support and prayers because it helps so much to know that people are lifting us up. Every day I am reminded in some way that God is with us and that is so wonderful. Sometimes it is so hard to praise him in the storm,  but it is what we are called to do. It seems like we had a hurricane this weekend, but I know it could have been worse and I am glad it’s not. They mentioned that she might have been put on a ventilator, but she wasn’t. I am thankful that she looks like a chunky pink pint sized baby like she supposed to and not the deathly pale sick looking baby she was 2 days ago.

Erik has put some pictures up from the past 2 weeks up so you should check them out. You can tell she’s growing and they are letting us put clothes on her so she looks even more adorable than ever!

Again, thank you for everything!
