A Gift from God
Erik and I had a good visit with our daughter today. We spent about 2 1/2-3 wonderful hours with her today. Like many days we sat there and just looked at her for a long while. It’s amazing how sitting still and just looking at her can entertain us for hours. We also were there around the time they take her temperature and change her diaper. This is an interesting story. Well, it is interesting to me.
Normally when we do this it is uneventful. Today was different. I told Erik to change her diaper, then for some reason I just took over. I should have let him change the diaper. It was a stinky diaper, but that’s not the bad thing. Have you ever heard of projectile vomiting? I am sure you have, but what about projectile pooping? Yes, I got her new diaper underneath her and had already cleaned her up from what she had already done. She was not finished. Right as I was about to put her legs down she just lets some more out. It was gross. That’s all I am going to say. Now, I know that the nurses there say that have a bowel movement is great and I understand that. It means she is digesting her food well and overall just doing what’s she supposed to do, except for keep it IN the diaper. Of course while all this is going on she wide awake staring up acting like nothing happened.
Of course the nurse had to change her bed so erik got to pick her up and bring her close to the edge (the side was open) and I got to kiss her little feet. It was so nice
I love her little feet! So, that’s my funny story for the day.
I got to hold her again today. Erik and I are taking turns. The last time I held her was not so great. She was having issues with heart decels and it was because her chin was down, and for babies that young it’s not good, so I was really freaked out by that. Today was much better. She didn’t have one brady (decel) and I got to hold her for over an hour. It was just wonderful having her there and being able to keep kissing the of her head and just seeing her little hand on my chest. It’s such a sweet time when we hold her. I know that seeing Erik is almost as wonderful as holding her myself. We love that we can do this with our little girl. We just can’t wait till we can get some clothes on her so she’s not half naked all the time
I found out today that they measure her every monday, but we haven’t been told in about 2 weeks what she has measured so I asked the nurse who was taking care of her when we were there today. She’s up to 1 lb and 11 1/2 ounces and 13 1/2 inches, although she may be a little bigger b/c the weight is from Thursday and the length is from last Monday. Like the title says. She’s growing!!!
Brady Faith was brought into this world 12 weeks premature. This was a result of mommy having pre-eclampsia and there being a reverse blood flow to/from the placenta. Brady wasn't growing like she should and it would have just gotten worse. She weighed 1lb 7oz and was 11 3/4in long. To learn more about Brady and her family click here.

Welcome to the world of babies with the projectile poop. It’s bittersweet that she has to be in a box all the time, but just think–that poo might’ve been all down your front if it was a traditional stinky change out on a changing table! I had that happen to me when my first son was a few weeks old. Talk about necessary wardrobe change for the mommy! I’m enjoying seeing her progress and am glad you’re sharing.

LOL… I remember my first projectile poop experience. It just happened to be in front of all of our family and friends durring our welcome home celebration for Beckham.
It’s very inspirational to read your blogs and follow Brady’s progress.
