A Gift from God
Well, it’s 2009. This month last year I found out I was pregnant with my surprise baby. If you had told me last year on January 1st that in a year I would have a new job, get pregnant, and spend 3 months of my life going back and forth to the hospital, I would have laughed in your face. Last year definitely taught me that my plans are not always God’s plans.
I am excited about a New Year. I hope it will be a little more low key. Last year was filled with surprises. Most of them were not what I would consider “good”. First of all, it may come as a surprise to some, but I was not excited when I found out I was pregnant, add to that my grandfather dying suddenly, Brady coming three months early at a tiny 1 pound 7 ounces, and 3 very stressful months going back and forth to the hospital. It was not the best of years. Actually, out of my measly 25 years on earth it is safe to say some of the worst days of my life happened in 2008, but some of the best days of my life happened as well, so in all the good outweigh the bad.
Our little miracle defintely outweighs anything bad that happened last year. Although her birth and first three months of life were very stressful, painful, hard to grasp, and hard to deal with, Brady is a joy. Erik and I have our moments when we want to pull our hair out. She has completely caught up in her lung development and lets us know every time she is hungry because she screams at the top of her lungs. She is loud, very loud, but most of the time she is this cute, sweet, ADORABLE, 5 1/2 month/ 3 month old, who loves to laugh and listen to Mommy and Daddy sing “somewhere over the rainbow”. She loves to look at herself in the mirror and watch Erik laugh. She has an unhealthy appetite for TV already and will sit for a very long time and stare at it like she knows what’s going on. She no longer wants to rest on your shoulder if she’s awake. She has to sit up so she can see what’s going on. She’s growing so fast.
Brady wanted to start the New Year off with a bang. Erik and I are excited by every little milestone thing Brady does. When she started putting stuff in her mouth you would have though she had run a marathon, well New Years day by my reaction you would have thought she had just been accepted to an ivy league school or something. My little darling rolled over for the first time. This is a big deal to Erik and I, because it means she is moving along. Yay for Brady!!!! She hasn’t done it much since then, but she did it like 5 times in a row that first day so I know it wasn’t a fluke. I am proud of my little “baby doll”. Speaking of baby doll’s, everyone says Brady looks like a baby doll. I don’t see it, but maybe it’s because I see her in her “ugly” moments., but she is pretty stinkin’ cute most of the time.
Anyway, I am glad 2008 is over and I welcome 2009 with all of it ups and downs and milestones. I thank God for getting us through last year and I know He will be there through the coming year. I thank all of you who have faithfully kept up with our story. I know that I don’t know all of you, and it means so much to me that you care about my family. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Years!
Brady Faith was brought into this world 12 weeks premature. This was a result of mommy having pre-eclampsia and there being a reverse blood flow to/from the placenta. Brady wasn't growing like she should and it would have just gotten worse. She weighed 1lb 7oz and was 11 3/4in long. To learn more about Brady and her family click here.

I agree 2008 was a rough year fo us too. Ethan was born 10 wks early & we spent 2 months going back & forth to the hospital. But it was also the best year since our little miracle came into our lives. Your little girl is so cute! I love the pictures. I’m so glas that she is doing so well.
