A Gift from God
I am sure those of you who read this blog regularly have picked up on the fact that Brady gets weighed Mondays and Thursdays. In general those are great days because Brady is a few ounces closer to what we would think as normal birth weight. It also means she is a little closer to coming home. Well, last night was a tad bit dissapointing considering Brady lost the .9 ounces Erik and were so excited about because it meant we could round up to 4 pounds. Now, it’s gone.
I am sure some of you know that Brady got her two months vaccinations on Monday and Tuesday and that she had some issues with her breathing due to those shots. She is doing much better. They took her off of oxygen yesterday at noon and she has done wonderfully. They do believe the issues she had were what caused her to lose weight. The shots were obviously stressful for her little body and she had to work harder for what she needs. This is also the first full week of Brady being in an open air crib. She has to work to keep herself warm which uses up her calories.
One good thing is that she has seems to be pretty consistent with how much she drinks from a bottle. It’s always a little over half which is good. At first she would drink a whole bottle which is between 33 and 35 cc’s, then at a later feeding she may drink 5 cc’s. Hopefully she is getting the bottle feeding down and they will start trying to give her more bottles a day.
I just find it funny that Erik and I were so excited that she was 3 pounds 15.9 ounces. We considered her 4 pounds and she had to go work out and lose it. So here’s to Monday and 4 pounds
Brady Faith was brought into this world 12 weeks premature. This was a result of mommy having pre-eclampsia and there being a reverse blood flow to/from the placenta. Brady wasn't growing like she should and it would have just gotten worse. She weighed 1lb 7oz and was 11 3/4in long. To learn more about Brady and her family click here.

Sorry about the .9oz weight loss, guys! But I’m glad to hear that she’s doing better after dealing with those shots! That can’t be much fun for a lil’ one
Keep gaining weight, Brady! Hope you guys get the 4lb weight that you want on Monday! Have a great weekend

I saw your comment on Zoe’s website and want to let you know I am lifting Brady up in prayer. God is so good and it’s when we feel like letting go that we know we must hang on to his promise. I am believing for life and a life filled with abundance of God’s mercy, love, and protection for your child.

Nikkie
I saw the disapointment monday as Brady was weighed but I also saw a mom just wanting that call to take her baby home.Just remember we are closer than you were eight weeks ago. When she comes home I know you want it for good.It was extra special night for me I got to hold Brady for the first time and feel Gods handiwork first hand.Brought back memories of the first time I got to hold my Nikkie after she was born. Brady is so special to me she is the first great neice on my side of the family and I will be so blessed to be able to share in her life just as I have her moms. Nikkie you know how proud I am of you and to see Christ work in your life Brady is such a blessed little girl to have you as a mommy. I am blessed to have you as my Nikkie. I love you and Erik and God is showing us just how much we always need him.Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.[psalms 37.4]
I love you Aunt Gayle
